Echeveria ‘Strawberry Ice’ is a cultivar from the Crassulaceae family, subgenus Echeveria. The exact origin is not documented, but it is thought to be a hybrid from the Moonstone or “Yingyue” line. 'Strawberry Ice' is a small, rosette-shaped succulent with a flat-round center. The leaves are spatulate to obovate, the leaf surface is smooth, the underside slightly convex. The leaf margin is thin and tapers to a small point. Both the leaf edge and the leaf tip turn slightly red, the leaf color varies from green to yellow-green. In optimum condition, the plant appears compact with a red leaf edge and a translucent yellow-green color - an appearance reminiscent of frozen fruit. Care instructions: 'Strawberry Ice' is easy to care for as long as a few basic conditions are observed. It should receive as much direct sunlight as possible during the growth phases in spring and autumn, as this intensifies the colors and promotes compact rosette growth. If there is a lack of light, it tends to loosen up and turn green. Water regularly during the growing season as soon as the substrate is about 70-80 % dry - permanent drought should be avoided.
