“Ice rose” is a succulent plant from the genus Echeveria in the family Crassulaceae. More precise origin data are not known. It is thought to be a chimeric, partially crystallized mutant of Echeveria Tubyun variegata and a fossilized form. Characteristics: The ice rose has a flattened growth center due to crystallization. The leaf shape is irregular, partly twisted outwards, with typical white fibers. The plant branches easily and forms several heads, resulting in a bouquet-like growth habit. The rosettes are solitary, the leaves are obovate, blunt-round at the front with a short tip. Irregular leaf shapes sometimes occur due to petrification. The leaf color is yellow-green with reddish edges and a slightly frosty, translucent appearance. In the best condition, the outer leaves are pink, while the inner leaves remain light green - an effect that lives up to the name “ice rose”. Care instructions: The ice rose forms offshoots easily. In summer, care should be taken to ensure good ventilation, shade and restrained watering to avoid heat damage. During the rest of the year, full sun and regular watering are beneficial. During the rainy season, the plant should be protected from moisture without being completely shaded. A loose, well-drained mixture is suitable as a substrate - such as peat or coconut fiber in combination with mineral grains, whereby the proportion of mineral substrate can be higher. Further care instructions can be based on Echeveria Tubyun variegata, although you should be even more careful due to the more sensitive crystallized and variegated characteristics - e.g. give significantly less light in summer than with conventional varieties. Handmade and painted planter made from breathable and water-absorbent clay, fired at a high temperature for long-lasting color.
